Image EDO Student Wins NSF Fellowship April 6, 2022 Congratulations to EDO student, Clarissa DeLeon, who was recently awarded a 2022 National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship (GRFP). Concerning her award, Clarissa states, “Big science cannot be done alone. I am grateful that my undergraduate research advisor Dr. Joe Shaw taught me this lesson early on. Combating wildfires and climate change are huge scientific endeavors, although this award is funding me, it will take my whole team to make these scientific contributions. Thank you, NSF!” Read more
Image Scientist Spotlight March 6, 2022 Congratulations to Dr. Ali Behrangi, a member of EDO’s executive committee and the department of Hydrology and Atmospheric sciences, who was promoted to full professor with tenure in Spring of 2021!! Within EDO, Dr. Behrangi is responsible for developing and contributing to research directions that can advance remote sensing sciences and help attain large grants. His area of experience is focused on remote sensing, precipitation science, drought and flood, cold region hydrology, ecohydrology, and climate change. Dr. Behrangi says, "I fit well in the EDO as the expert members complement each other to initiate and pursue big ideas." Read more
