<p>The wealth of data available for planetary research has created the need for new tools and capabilities for storing, delivering, and working with the data using cutting-edge methods. The goal of these “planetary data” workshops is to bring together planetary data users, space mission data providers, data archivists, and software and technology experts to exchange ideas on current capabilities and needs for improved and new tools that can be used to address evolving needs in planetary research and data analysis.</p>

<p>Space-based EO systems provide a means to support the monitoring of some soil chemical and physical properties, directly or indirectly, through the interaction of radiance fields with the (mainly upper) soil layer as shown by many research projects. However, space-based EO data together with in-situ measurements and modeling are hardly been used today in an operational manner by national and international organizations with the mandate to map, monitor and report on soils.</p>

<p>The Earth observation scientific community is invited to participate in a European Space Agency (ESA) User Consultation Meeting at the Robinson College, University of Cambridge in Cambridge, United Kingdom on 16–17 July 2019. This consultation forms a critical input to the decision-making process that will lead to the selection of ESA’s ninth Earth Explorer mission.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The European Space Agency (ESA) is organising a&nbsp;<b>Φ-week&nbsp;</b>event, 9-13 September 2019,&nbsp;focusing on&nbsp;<b>EO Open Science</b>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<b>FutureEO</b>&nbsp;- to review the latest developments in Open Science trends.</p>
